If you own a regular license od Autodesk 3dsMax (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, Design), you can install the NOAV solution as a plugin for this software. This is how the installation progress:
Step 1 : Before installing, make sure that you have administrative rights on your computer. If you do not have sufficient rights, please contact your local administrator.make sure you have the latest drivers for your devices properly installed and configured . Finally, make sure your PC is compliant with the minimal requirements (see
Configurations).
Step 2 : Insert the
NOVA disk. If the Autorun function is active, you will be prompt to tlaunch the installation from the interface of the disk. Otherwise, please click on the file nammed "Nova Studio 2010.exe", in the "Install" directory.
Step 3 : The welcome screen is displayed. Take the necessary time to read all the comments in order to install the software properly. then click on "Next".
Step 4 : The NOVA Installer tests your PC and validate the prerequisites. Green icons are then displayed. The installation can go on. If a red icon is displayed, that means that one of the prerequisite is missing and the installation is aborted. It is recommended, but not mandatory to have a green icon near the DirectX 10 symbol.
You can cancel at any time the install process by pressing the "Cancel" button, or go to the previous screen by pressing the "previous" button.
Click on "Next".
Step 5 :A new panel is displayed, compiling all the end-user bonds you have to accept in order to follow the installation. We highly recommend to read the complete text here prior to accept and click on "Next". If you do not agree to the end-user conditions, the installation stops.
Step 6 : The install pannel lists now all the different 3dsMax directory on your system.
NOVA will be, by default, installed for the listed softwares. If a specific install of 3dsMax is not listed here, you can manually aim to its directory by clicking the "Add" button. However, you can avoid the installation of
NOVA for a particular version of 3dsMax by select the desired item and by clicking the "Delete" button. Then, clickon "Next" to proceed to the next step.
Step 7 : NOVA now proposes to associate the common 3D file formats to
NOVA Stusio. Indicate for each format if you want to open it by default with NOVA, then click on "Next".
Step 8 : The NOVA Installer has enough informations to copy the files to your hard-drive. Click on "Finish" to complete the installation.
Step 9 : If the installation is a success, a confirmation form is displayed. If not, please start once again all the installation process.
3dsMax Configuration.Open 3dsMax. You will notice that a new menu item is diplayed, called
NOVA. Aim to the Utilities pannel, located in the Command pannel. Click on the button labelled "Configure buttons sets", add a extra button and drag'n'drop from the list the
"NOVA Exporter 2010" item to the newly creatde blank button. Close that pannel. The button set has been re-arranged in order to display the
NOVA exporter options. You are now ready to create, edit and export 3D content for
NOVA Studio !
