Collisions in
NOVA marks the behavior of certain objects relative to the camera. These objects can effectively block the camera. This is the case by default with certain types of objects from Revit, such as walls, for example.
Open the file CenterBase.rvt Convention, from the archive
located here. Go to the Add-Ins menu and click the Export button. Save the file if prompted and export.
Choose a filename for export and select White. Click Next until Step 4. this is where you can specify which object should be collidable. You can see that, by default, some items are already classified in the right side of the interface. Those are considered as collidable.
On the left, check the box in front of the group named Windows, then click the center button to move the object Windows on the right side. This group (and all the objects that compose) collide with the camera now.
On the right side, check the box in front of the group "Columns" and click the middle button. This group runs left and is no longer collidable. Click the Finish button to start the export.
Once the export is complete, close and run the exported from
Nova Studio. You can optionally optimize the scene as seen in Chapter 2. During your travels around the model, you'll realize that you do not collide. It is because of the by default behaviour of the camera nammed Fly(does not collide). Get closer to the building, and in the Home ribbon of
NOVA Studio, go to the Cameras Options chunk. You should see one icon with a little ghost. Click on this icon and change it to the walk mode (the icon of the foot).
From now on, you will undergo gravity and your camera collides with objects that you selected when exporting.
Be careful not to overstep the bounds, otherwise you will fall endlessly. One solution might be to create walls from Revit and declare them as collidable.
